How do a Christian defines Graphic Design?

I believe that Graphic Design has its place in creating a brand for the Church. I also believe that art and design should be rooted in the word of God. Creativity has to be used in design to capture a new audience with the same old message of the gospel. And sometimes churches feel exclusive because they don’t change at all, in any way, for several years. A church started in school, or a home is much more inviting because outsiders feel more welcome and comfortable. And that can be accomplished in any church through creative design elements and concepts.

It was frustrating at first, but I soon realized that I could create things that were visually appealing, and my brothers and sisters in Christ were able to use that to share the gospel with people in their own language. I could also create things for fellow believers back in the states sharing the work that God was doing in a different country that they might not be able to go to.

My time there reminded me that we are called to tell His good news wherever we are and whatever we are doing. It taught me to be intentional with my neighbors and the relationships God put in my life.

God changed my perspective and reminded me that there is nothing he can’t use for His glory.

He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers. (Exodus 35:35)

Our goal is for the youth to participate in the body of Christ in responsible evangelism of youth, presenting them with the Person, Work and Teachings of Christ and discipling them into the Church.
